Brentwood’s transformation into one of Metro Vancouver’s most dynamic, transit-oriented neighbourhoods is well underway, and this week’s announcement of a new 36,000 square foot Thrifty Foods at Brentwood Block is another step forward in realizing Grosvenor’s vision for the community.
This announcement marks the continuation of a decades-long partnership between Thrifty Foods and Grosvenor, one that will benefit residents and those who live nearby. Slated to open in 2029, the new grocery store reflects the continued evolution of the area into a vibrant, new neighbourhood where residents are just steps away from shops, services and green space.
Spanning eight acres along Lougheed Highway, the Brentwood Block master-planned development was designed as a pedestrian-focused community, and the addition of Thrifty Foods brings that ambition closer to reality.
Grocery stores are often the cornerstone of vibrant urban communities. They create daily foot traffic, support surrounding retail, and provide a level of convenience that shapes how people experience their neighbourhood.
