Their lands and waters continue to support their cultural and economic practices, while serving as a source of knowledge and memory, encoded with their teachings and laws.

The Squamish Nation’s roots trace back through multiple physical communities, or úxwumixw, before coming together as a unified government in 1923. Today, most of the Nation’s members live on Vancouver’s North Shore, with a smaller yet thriving community along the Squamish River.
Deeply connected to their ancestral lands and cultural traditions, the Squamish Nation continues to be a dynamic force in the region — honouring their heritage while driving progress, prosperity, and self-determination for future generations. Squamish Nation also leads the highly anticipated masterplan at Sen̓áḵw.
səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation) is one of many groups of Coast Salish peoples living in the Pacific Northwest. Oral history tells of up to 10,000 Tsleil-Waututh members living in traditional territory, depending on cycles of hunting, harvesting and preserving foods, and on trade with neighbours. By drawing on knowledge from their ancestors, Tsleil-Waututh have a Sacred Trust, a responsibility, to care for and restore traditional territory to its former state.
Tsleil-Waututh Nation under the banner of its development company, Takaya Developments, has developed over 1,000 homes to date in the Raven Woods community in North Vancouver, with projects including Destiny2 and Seymour Village developed alongside Aquilini Development.
